Caring for Creation: Listen, Wonder, and Learn

There are so many valuable ways to care for creation! 

How does a person, family and community decide what their respective roles are? 

At Abide Ministries, we are all about people hearing from God and then responding well. Often it seems we need to gain knowledge about what God is speaking to us about. And then that knowledge leads to understanding and eventually we gain the wisdom we need to do the good works that God has for us. Not necessarily a linear process, rather multiple life experiences combined with research and conversations overtime that allow us to learn and grow.

I remember hearing about global warming and wondering, what’s the big deal about a few degrees? Now I eat only plant-based foods and drive an EV! How did that ever happen?

In short, by taking time to listen, wonder and learn. I have the advantage of several decades to look back and realize how important it is to step outside of one’s own knowledge and understanding, especially those negative perceptions, and discover what God is up to through others that I can learn from and enjoy.

I invite you to enjoy thinking about how we can best care for creation. You might be surprised what changes you enjoy making in your life for the good of all of God’s creation.
