Thank you to all who came and explored the Abide Collective in September 2019. We are grateful to you!
For over 20 years, Mike and Robyn Carnill have committed their lives to strengthening the relationships of others with Jesus, which is the basis of Abide. Whether it happens through one-on-one discipleship, prayer, solitude retreats, deep friendships, or some other way, Mike and Robyn desire to see anyone who is willing to listen to Jesus come to live more fully in him. Throughout its history, Abide has changed and grown, reminiscent of the vine growing from the branch that Jesus desires our lives to be. In the beginning, Abide thrived as Mike and Robyn made themselves available to others on an individual basis, which they still do; however, Abide now welcomes and provides a way for others to love those God is calling them to love. Abide currently hosts other families and individuals who are serving others in a variety of ways, giving them meaingingful coaching, oversight, and a tax-deductible organization in which to raise funds as they begin their journey of strengthening others in Jesus.
Cam loves new endeavors. Whether he is helping start something from scratch or working to take something existing in a new direction, he thrives where there is an ability to be creative. For the last 11 years, Cam has helped to launch many different initiatives in various settings, including International Oasis, Cultivate, SLAM, and LifeChurch Auburn Hills, just to name a few. He loves to come alongside people with a Jesus-inspired dream and encourage them in any way he can, even if it means putting skis on couches and riding them downhill to help one of the groups he encourages meet new people.Cam and his wife Lyndee have been married since 2010, living in Pontiac and raising two children. Their garage, basement, and pre-owned 17-foot UHaul truck are full of things to help throw parties in any season, so if you need anything, just send him a message. He would love to help you out (just don’t mention anything to Lyndee).
Amanda, her husband Josh, and their three children live in the Detroit area and have been serving the local community for over 10 years. Amanda is sharing her years of ministry experience alongside other team members to support the work of starting and sustaining new initiatives that will serve the vulnerable and the oppressed. If you ask Amanda what the best job she ever had was, she will probably say it is a toss up between what she is now doing with Abide and the first job she ever had as a 16 year old working at Ben and Jerry’s ice-cream. While she does love helping others come to know freedom in Jesus, step into their God-given identity and live fully authentic lives…she is also very fond of ice-cream so it really is hard to say.
Abide Ministries and the Abide Collective are made up of an extremely diverse group of people, each with a unique set of gifts and relationships. It’s a large task to ensure that every gift that comes in is accounted for, every paycheck is sent, and every issue of compliance handled properly. This is where Chelsea comes in, and she does a brilliant job.An entrepreneur herself, Chelsea is a rock-solid administrator who makes life for everyone within Abide easy, and for that, she is well loved by everyone she works with. When she’s not running her own business or the finances and accounting for Abide, you can find her driving her Jeep through the wildnerness or getting to know her neighborhood in the city of Detroit better.
